Annetta Jean (Delp) McCurry

5c8d65f7a8682Annetta Jean (Delp) McCurry, 82, of Oil City, died Friday night, March 15, 2019, at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie.

She was born in Brookville on Jan. 13, 1937, to the late Harlin W. and Mary E. (Knapp) Delp.

Mrs. McCurry was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Seneca.

In her earlier years, she worked for Community Services of Venango County, before becoming a dedicated homemaker to her family.

Annetta enjoyed the companionship of her loving cat, Gracie Ann. She collected flower vases and jewelry; and enjoyed making crafts and bead jewelry, cooking and baking.

She was married in Franklin on May 1, 1998, to Dave W. McCurry, and he survives.

Also surviving are nine children, Jerry D. Delp, Sr. and his wife Darlyne of Leland, North Carolina, Sandra J. Glass of Oil City, Rosella M. Aites of Oil City, Wanda I. Shields and husband Dennis of Clarion, Connie M. Alex and husband Henry of Aynor, South Carolina, Tina Gahring of Oil City, Jenny Gammello-Harbaugh and husband Jeff of Oil City, Tammy L. Corey and husband Ben of Meadville and Michael C. McCurry and wife Toinetta of Clarksville, Tennessee; 25 grandchildren, Bobbie J. Delp, Jerry Delp, Jr., Jamie M. Fairbanks, Robert L. Emery, Dawn M. Britt, Jamie A. Glass, Fred E. Tenorio, Timothy L. Tenorio, Annetta “Renee” Neely, Jessica E. Hunt, Dennis L. Shields, Tia M. Moore, Dianna R. Webb, Christopher D. Alex, Merle L. Gahring IV, Jesse L. Gahring, Brandon C. Gammello, Cole L. Gammello, Kelsie L. Harbaugh, Jeffrey E. Harbaugh II, Nicklaus J. Harbaugh, Aleksey B. Corey, Brandon W. Corey, Michael McCurry and Brittany McCurry; 41 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Annetta is also survived by seven siblings, Thomas T. Delp of Union City, Maxine E. Struchen of Titusville, R. Darlene Fike of Oil City, Kathy M. Fike of Oil City, Susan D. Edminston of Oil City, K. Michael Delp, Sr. of Oil City, and David B. Delp of Oil City; two sisters-in-law, Frances McCurry of Franklin and Dorothy Spence of Ohio; a brother-in-law, Glenn McCurry of Transfer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Tim Gammello; two sons-in-law, Raymond Aites and Merle Gahring III; six brothers, Harold “Buck”, Charles “Bob”, Albert “Tub”, John “Joe”, James, and Leroy Delp; and an infant sister.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Route 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township.

A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Larry Williams of Faith Baptist Church, officiating.Interment will follow in Lamey Cemetery in Dempseytown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Venango County Humane Society, 286 South Main St., Seneca, Pa. 16346.
