Bridge Builders Community Foundations hosts the Week of Giving campaign to spur collective charitable giving and garner excitement that will allow donors to give to numerous nonprofits throughout Clarion, Forest, and Venango Counties, as well as the community of Punxsutawney.

This event is a way to generate new donors and raise a nonprofit’s brand in the community. It maximizes the impact of philanthropy in our area.

One hundred fifty-seven nonprofits are participating this year.

The community will be able to see the donations to the organizations in real-time by visiting https://bbcfgives.org/organizations during the Week of Giving.

Trenton E. Moulin, Executive Director of Bridge Builders Community Foundations, (pictured below) told exploreClarion.com, “We are stronger together, and this collective effort is an exciting and impactful five-day campaign that not only helps nonprofits in our area but it helps us understand that we are all in this together…making our community a better place.”

Frequently Asked Questions About Week of Giving:

Why should I donate through BBCF’s Week of Giving rather than directly to my favorite non-profit organization?

Your donations through BBCF’s Week of Giving not only qualify your favorite organization for a larger share of the Week of Giving stretch pool, but they also help your organization qualify for additional event prize money.

What forms of donations are accepted?

All online donations must be made via credit or debit card. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted. Cash or check donations will be accepted and have to be received by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday of the Week of Giving. Donations are tax-deductible and irrevocable (donations will not be refunded) and will be for the use of your chosen charity.

What is the minimum donation?

The minimum donation is $25.00, so for just $25.00, you can be a philanthropist during BBCF’s Week of Giving!

Will my donation be tax-deductible and how do I get my receipt?

Yes, donations are tax deductible! Your receipt contains tax-deductible information to save for your files.

Receipts are automatically e-mailed to the e-mail address provided during the donation process. If you do not receive it, you can scroll to the very bottom of this page, click Lost Receipt, and have it resent. You can also check your junk folder for e-mails from “bbcfgives@bbcf.org.” If no receipt is found after taking these steps, please call the BBCF office at (814) 667-8687 and our staff will be happy to assist you.

Is donating through BBCF’s Week of Giving safe?

Yes. The software providers (Contributary.com) have partnered with Stripe to provide a secure online donation form. All donations made using Stripe’s donation forms use industry-leading Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect your information and provide a safe and secure environment for online donors.

How will my information be used?

Donors participating in BBCF’s Week of Giving will have their name, email, billing address, phone number, and contribution amount shared with the nonprofit organization to which the contribution will be credited. If you choose to give anonymously, this information will not be shared with the organization designated for your gift. The software provider (Contribtuary.com) does not retain credit card information and your personal data will not be shared with or sold to any outside vendor or third party, except to provide the services you requested.

We use personal information that we collect to provide you services or event registrations that you requested, to send you email confirmations and/or tax receipts for your online transactions, to notify you about events or special giving opportunities, to provide you with news and updates, to comply with legal requirements and other information related to the Bridge Builders Community Foundations. Donor names may be recognized in the annual report or other forms of public recognition unless you designate your gift as anonymous.

Bridge Builders Community Foundations may disclose your personal information to comply with any court order, law or legal process, including a response to any government or regulatory request. If a request for personal information is made, the Foundation will notify the individual prior to the release, to allow the individual to respond to the agency. If you wish to opt-out or unsubscribe from any services or communications, please contact our office.

What constitutes a unique donor for prizes calculations?

Unique donors are determined by an algorithm that considers many data points, such as first and last name, credit card number, and address. So it may happen that two donors have the same name, but the system will know them as unique donors because they have different addresses or credit card numbers. Or a wife and husband may use the same credit card or address to donate, but they will be considered unique donors because their names are different.
