Dennis CarbaughDennis E. Carbaugh, 73, of Seneca, died Saturday, March 16, 2019 at UPMC Northwest.

Born September 27, 1945 in Oil City, he was the son of the late Orion H. and Betty Jane Alabaugh Carbaugh, and from the age of 12 was raised as a son by the late Rev. Edward S. Anderson.

A 1963 graduate of Cranberry High School, he earned an Associate’s Degree in Drafting from Williamsport Area Community College in 1966.

Dennis worked as a roll designer/draftsman for 25 years at Universal Cyclops in Titusville, retiring in 1994. After retiring, he worked for AVI Food Services, and owned and operated D & J Carbaugh Services small engine repair.

He was a life member of the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department, was a member of the Drafting Advisory Board at the Vo-Tech, and coached Cranberry Little League.

Dennis enjoyed stock car racing and small engine repair.

Mr. Carbaugh was a member of the Oil City Free Methodist Church.

On June 18, 1966, he was married to the former Judy D. Hanna, who survives.

In addition to his wife, surviving are two daughters, Denise D. Carbaugh and Sheila R. Carbaugh, both of Seneca.

Also surviving are four brothers, William E. Anderson and his wife Pat of Macedon, NY, Dennis G. Anderson and his wife Lorraine of Churchville, NY, Raymond D. Anderson and his wife Deborah of Oklahoma City, OK, and Robert B. Anderson of Oil City; a sister, Patricia E. Kriebel and her husband John of Highland Heights, OH; a sister-in-law, Dorcas Meddock of Seneca; three very special young men, Nicholas Eugene Ziegler, Travis John Ziegler, and Tylor James Ziegler, all of Oil City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rev. David L. Anderson.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Monday at the Morrison Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 am with the Rev. Christopher Hill, pastor of the Oil City Free Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Heckathorn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department or to the Oil City Free Methodist Church.
