Walter R. Yasinski

Walter R. Yasinski, 72, of Polk, died March 14, 2019, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital after a short illness.

He was born July 14, 1946, in Etna, PA to the late Walter and Mary (Semler) Yasinski. He had a twin brother, Richard, who passed away in 1992.

Walter lived in Selinsgrove Center at age 12 and transferred to Polk Center in July of 1965, to be closer to his family, where he remained there for 53 years.

Mr. Yasinski was a faithful Catholic and enjoyed attending Mass and other religious activities. He also enjoyed working at Lakeside Shredding Shop, listening to music and playing ball games and bingo. He also enjoyed watching the Elk at Pines Camp in Benezette. He was never a morning person, but smiled often and loved being outdoors.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his sister, Kathleen Yasinski; his cousins, Patricia Rafferty, Fran Rider, and Carol Bliss, all from Gibsonia, PA; and also the staff and friends at Polk Center. Walter had a special caregiver, Pam Fleming, who showered him with unconditional love.

In addition to his parents and twin brother, he was preceded in death by his brother, David.
