MORRISTOWN, N.C. — A former Brookville man is facing murder charges after he allegedly killed another man at a hotel in Tennessee.

According to a press release from the Morristown Police Department, investigators have charged 38-year-old Jocob Thomas Marzullo, a former Brookville man who currently resides in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, with second-degree murder following an investigation into the death of a man at an Econo Lodge in Morristown on Monday, March 18.

Police say they were first notified of a disturbance and a medical call at the hotel at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Monday. They arrived to find the victim, identified as 42-year-old Thomas Frederick Taylor, Jr., dead at the scene.

According to police, investigators believe the death occurred as a result of a physical confrontation between the men after Marzullo traveled to Morristown to confront the victim about stealing his property in North Carolina.

Marzullo is currently incarcerated in the Hamblen County Jail without bond.
