State Police Investigating Threatening Letter Sent to Forest County Magistrate

TIONESTA, Pa. (EYT) — State police are investigating an incident of terroristic threats sent in a letter to the Forest County Courthouse located on Elm Street, in Tionesta, Forest County.

Around 11:15 a.m. on Friday, April 5, the Forest County Courthouse received the letter addressed to the Forest County District Attorney.

According to Marienville-based State Police, the letter came from possibly two inmates: one inmate from SCI Albion and one inmate from SCI Somerset.

The context of the letter made threatening statements to the Forest County Magistrate and another unknown individual.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
