Turkey Flies into Truck Cab Causing Crash on Route 36

HARMONY TWP. Pa. (EYT) — A turkey caused a tractor-trailer accident on Saturday morning on State Route 36, in Harmony Township.

According to Marienville-based State Police, the collision involved a 2013 Freightliner tractor-trailer that was traveling north on Route 36, in Harmony Township, Forest County; the accident occurred around 11:39 a.m. on Saturday, April 6.

Police say a turkey flew from the west side of the roadway parallel with the truck. It flew in front of the truck and cut east and then impacted the windshield and proceeded into the cab. The operator was able to stop the vehicle safely along the roadside.

The operator was using a seat belt and was not injured.

The name of the operator was not released.
