Clarion U. Baseball to Play for Friedreich’s Ataxia Awareness

CLARION, Pa. — Throughout the entire month of April, the Clarion baseball team will be raising money and awareness for Friedreich’s Ataxia.

FA, as it’s known, is a debilitating, progressive neurological childhood disease. Most young people diagnosed with FA require mobility aids such as a cane, walker, or wheelchair by their teens or early 20s.

For every run scored by the Golden Eagles this season a donation will be made to the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance.

On Saturday, April 13, against Cal U, the Clarion baseball team will be playing for Friedreich’s Ataxia Awareness.

All proceeds raised on this day will be donated directly to the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance. In addition to donations and pledges, there will be a 50/50 drawing for fans in attendance.

The team will be selling t-shirts on campus and at every home game through the month of April. The t-shirts cost $15.00 and every cent raised will be donated to the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance.

This season, the Clarion University Baseball Team is changing lives one run at a time. Help them give back by pledging a donation for every run Clarion scores this season. Proceeds benefit the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) in their mission to marshal and focus the resources and relationships needed to cure Friedreich’s Ataxia- a debilitating, progressive neurological childhood disease.

The team and Head Coach Anthony Williams invites everyone to join in raising funds and awareness for FA through this link: curefa.org/ClarionBaseball.
