Paint Township Talks Health Insurance, Purchases
The supervisors acknowledged the passing of Robert “Bob” Leonard who served as the township’s vacancy board chairman.
Leonard, 85, of Marianne Estates, passed away at his home on April 16.
They declined to name a replacement at the present time.
Francine Shimchock from H.B. Beels Insurance of Knox presented a proposal for health insurance for two of the township’s employees and their families. The insurance carrier listed on the proposal is UPMC, and the total monthly premium for all those insured would be $3,182. The policy would go into effect July 1. The supervisors were unclear about the term of the existing policy and wished to clarify the ending date of the current contract. Jacqui Blose, township secretary, will provide clarification on these matters prior to any decisions being made.
With a unanimous vote, the supervisors approved the purchase of a new broom for the township’s loader truck. The price for the CAT equipment is $8,466.
Sealed bids, which had been submitted for the purchase of limestone, were opened at the meeting. IA Construction had the winning bid at $13,800 for 650 tons of limestone. The supervisors voted to make the purchase. Additionally, they approved the purchase of 600 tons of #9 limestone from Allegheny Minerals.
