MONROE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Multiple fire departments were dispatched to the scene of a structure fire in Monroe Township on Tuesday afternoon.
Clarion County 9-1-1 received a call for a structure fire at 2035 Bodenhorn Road in Monroe Township around 1:11 p.m.
Sligo Volunteer Fire Department, Rimersburg Hose Company, Clarion Fire & Hose Co. 1, Strattanville Volunteer Fire Department, and Limestone Township Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.
Southern Clarion County Ambulance was also called to the scene.
Rick Laskey, of the Sligo Volunteer Fire Department, was first at the scene where firefighters discovered the fire was in an unattached garage structure.
“There was nobody home when the fire started,” Laskey told exploreClarion.com.
“We believe we know what started it, but we’re going to do a bit more investigating.”
According to Laskey, the State Police Fire Marshal was en route to the scene around 2:30 p.m.
Laskey also noted the garage was more than likely a total loss, though that had yet to be officially determined.
