Joseph E. Craft

Joseph E. Craft, 65, of Cochranton, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at VNA Hospice Collins House in Rocky Grove after a courageous battle with Cancer.

Born in Oil City on January 15, 1954, he was the son of the late Everett C. and Mable Marie Young Craft.

Joe was a 1973 graduate of Franklin High School. He worked for Franklin Steel, the former CPT and later the LORD Corporation where he retired from.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid car guy who enjoyed street rods and attending car shows. He loved his 1932 Ford Coupe Street Rod, 1952 Ford Pickup Street Rod and his 1972 Monte Carlo. Over the years, Joe received various awards for his cars.

Joe enjoyed going to the Cochranton Library where he made many friends with the workers and volunteers. He loved his two dogs, Spanky and Annie whom he enjoyed many walks with on the bike trail.

Joe always had a way of making people laugh and have fun. His family and friends will miss jokes and hilarious antics. Joe enjoyed his life and shared many happy times with family and close friends including, Tom and Judy Cochran, Pat and Lisa Scanlon, Randy and Barb Doyle and Bill Bennett.

Joe is also survived by four siblings, Linda Thompson and her husband William of Cranberry, Donna Cornelius and her husband John of Franklin, Diane Eckel and her husband Richard of Franklin, and Joyce Hughes and her husband Michael of Franklin.

Additionally surviving are five nieces and one nephew and six great-nephews and four great-nieces.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry E. Craft and Kenneth Jack Craft; a brother-in-law, Donald L. Confer and a very special nephew, Chad E. Teribery.

At Joes’s request, there will be no visitation.

A private memorial service will be held for the family.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin.

Interment will be made at Venus Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Collins House for the care and support they provided in Joe’s final hours.
