John Michael Say, Sr.

John Say BWJohn Michael Say, Sr., 78, of Seneca, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in Oil City on July 17, 1940, he was the son of the late George and Katherine Stewart Say.

A career military person, John worked as a radioman in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years, retiring in 1978.

He was a member of the Oil City VFW Post 464.

John loved to fish and hunt in his free time.

On June 29, 1963, he was married to the former Barbara Ann Bauer, who survives. Last year, they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary together.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, John “Jack” Say, Jr. of Seneca, and Andrew Say and wife Adriana of Macedonia, Ohio.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, are two sisters, Mary Kay Fonville and Judith Say.

There will be no visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stephen Church on Tuesday, April 30, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John L. Miller presiding.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in John’s name to the Venango County Humane Society.
