CLARION BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — A local man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly burglarized a Clarion facility, searched child porn, and stole ice cream and other items.

Court documents indicate 20-year-old Keagen Reed, of Fisher, was arraigned at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, April 29, on the following charges:

– Criminal Trespass-Enter Structure, Felony 3
– Criminal Attempt — Child Pornography, Felony 3
– Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1
– Institutional Vandalism Place Worship, Misdemeanor 2
– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 2

Unable to post $10,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:27 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, Officer Wright, of the Clarion Borough Police Department, received a complaint from a known male of a local facility, reporting that individuals had broken into the facility located on Wood Street in Clarion Borough on Friday, April 26, at approximately 5:24 p.m.

The man reported he had captured the incident on video surveillance, though the individuals had ripped the surveillance camera down, walked it over to a table in the building, and covered it with sunscreen.

The man also stated that the individuals accessed an HP laptop and searched “child porn,” “pornhub,” and “pornhub unblocked.”

Officer Wright then met the man and a known female to conduct a walk-through of the facility. The female was uncertain if anything was missing, but advised that she accessed her work network from home, and when she opened it, “child porn” was on an open tab. The woman then contacted the man who handles computer operations for the facility and told him what she had found, which prompted him to look at the security footage.

The man sent a copy of the security footage to Officer Wright by email.

According to the complaint, the woman advised Officer Wright that the classroom and office were locked, but that a key for each was hung on the wall in the hallway. Officer Wright photographed the keys and secured them for evidence. The woman also found a key on the hallway floor with a “Clarion Office” keychain, which did not belong to the facility. Officer Wright photographed the security camera and sunscreen and secured both as evidence, then went into the classroom and photographed and secured the HP laptop, on which the search tabs remained open.

The complaint notes Officer Wright recalled Detective Kemmer briefing him on a report of a known juvenile telling people that he was going to break into a building on 7th Avenue to stay for 24 hours or until he was caught.

Officer Wright then showed Officer Foust the video footage, and Officer Foust noted that the stature of one of the individuals appeared to be Keagen Reed, who is known to associate with the known juvenile from the report.

On Monday, April 29, while attempting to locate Reed, Officer Wright received a call from Chief William Peck that the known facility had called to state that someone had come back into the facility after Officer Wright had been there the previous day.

Officer Wright proceeded to the facility and spoke with the known female again. She showed him a paper body with a black male juvenile picture as a head that was ripped down off of the wall and appeared as though someone had spit on his face. Officer Wright photographed it and secured it as evidence. The woman then showed him a yellow straw that appeared to be chewed that was laying on the kitchen floor in front of a couch. He also photographed and secured the straw as evidence. Finally, the woman turned over a toy ball in a ziplock bag that she had found was out of place.

Officer Wright then proceeded to Reed’s residence.

According to the complaint, after being told Officer Wright was investigating a report of someone breaking into the known facility in Clarion Borough, Reed put his head down and stated “it was me” and named two known juveniles, including the previously suspected juvenile, who he said were also involved.

Reed then accompanied Officer Wright to the Clarion Borough Police Department for a formal interview.

After being read his rights, Reed agreed to speak with Officer Wright.

According to the complaint, Read said he opened a window on the Weaver Place side of the facility, climbed in, and opened the door to let the two known juveniles into the building. He said they looked around for money and that the first known juvenile stole a pair of scissors from the upstairs portion of the facility before they all walked downstairs. He went on to say he attempted to open a door, but it was locked, and the first known juvenile then told him there was a camera behind them, so they backed out, with their backs to the camera. Reed said he then reached up and pulled the camera down, walked it to a table, and covered it with sunscreen.

The complaint states Reed told Officer Wright that the three then went into the kitchen looking for food, and he took three or four boxes of ice cream sandwiches from the freezer.

According to the complaint, when asked about who accessed the computer, Reed stated that he did and said he “typed in child porn and porn hub” because he “thought it would be funny.” When asked if he ever searched child porn on his cellphone, he said “no, I would never do that one my own phone,” but when asked if child porn would be found on his phone if it was searched, Reed said, “yes, you will.”

Officer Wright then asked Reed for consent to search his phone, and Reed allegedly gave his permission. Officer Wright then conducted a search of the phone, a black Motorola cellphone, and obtained a photograph of his history, which showed that Reed frequently searched “xnxx” and pornhub from his phone and also searched “16-year-old xxx” on July 28, 2018, according to the complaint.

The complaint notes that when asked why he was searching for child porn, Reed advised that he went through a program for indecent sexual assault in Cranberry and did not want to talk about it.

According to the complaint, when asked about what was taken from the facility, Reed said that he took three or four boxes of ice cream sandwiches, milk, Kool-Aid, and a gray hat. He said the first known juvenile took a pair of scissors, a hat, and a red robe, and the second known juvenile took a pair of gloves. Reed stated they took all of the items back to the first known juvenile’s residence and consumed the food and drinks. Reed also noted the gray hat was at his residence. A known male then retrieved the gray hat from Reed’s residence and dropped it off at the Clarion Borough Police Department.

Based on the investigation, charges were filed through Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn’s office on Monday, April 29.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, with Judge Quinn presiding.
