Matthew Scott Boring, 52, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019, at his residence in Newport News, Virginia.

He was the son of the late Douglas James Boring and the late Joan Elizabeth Boring. He was the loving husband to Rachel Reyes Boring and loving father to Holly Ann Malone.

Matthew graduated from Franklin High School in 1985 and entered the Army where he served honorably for four years.

Matt enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing and racing.

In addition to his wife and daughter, Matthew is survived by his grandmother, Pauline L Eakin Boring; his stepmother, Shirl A Boring; his brother, Eric J Boring; and his aunt, Deborah K. Smith and her husband Edmond.

He is also survived by his son-in-law, Jamal Malone who, with his wife Holly, gave Matt a beautiful granddaughter, Davina Rae Malone.

In addition to his mother and father, Matthew was preceded in death by his uncle, Mark Boring.

Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
