Chase Kriebel Clarion DatkoCLARION, Pa. — Lake Staub went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs to lead Clarion to a 7-0 victory over visiting A-C Valley.

Nate Datko went 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Bobcats. Drew Wrhen singled while Cole Slaugenhaup went 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI. Skylar Rhoades and Calvin German each had a pair of runs scored.

Sam Anderson paced the Falcons offense with a triple while going 2-for-3.

Chase Kriebel struck out 12 batters and gave up two hits to earn the victory for Clarion.

Broc Weigle took the loss for A-C Valley giving up six runs on six hits while striking out five.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 12, KARNS CITY 11

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. — Ian Larson scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh on an error by catcher Jake Weckerly to lift Clarion-Limestone over Karns City, 12-11.

Larson went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and two RBIs to lead the Lions offense. Hayden Callen went 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored while Colby Himes tripled and drove in two runs. Bryson Huwar and Drew Beichner each had a pair of hits and an RBI.

Tyler Yough went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored to pace the Gremlins. Steve O’Donnell went 3-for-5 including a double, two runs scored and two RBIs while Weckerly had a pair of hits with a run scored. Conner Schaffner went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and two RBIs.

Bryson Huwar started the game and struck out six batters while giving up eight hits and five runs in 5 ⅔ innings for Clarion. Goheen got the save.

Colton Hutchinson took the loss for Karns City. Weckerly started the game and had a strikeout in 3 ⅔ innings while Cole Sherwin had three strikeouts in 2 ⅓ innings.

NORTH CLARION SWEEPS KEYSTONE

FRILLS CORNER, Pa. — North Clarion swept a doubleheader against visiting Keystone winning Game One, 3-0, and Game Two, 7-2.

Korey Mills threw a no-hitter in the first game for the Wolves striking out four and walking two.

In addition, Jacob Bauer went 1-for-2 with two runs scored while Zyler Hargenrader went 2-for-2 with a double. Sam Minich and Logan Minich each had an RBI and Tyler McCord-Wolbert went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

In the second game, McCord-Wolbert went 2-for-4 including a double and two RBIs while Sam Minich went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Hargenrader had a pair of hits and two runs scored and Isaac Gilara doubled and drove in two runs. Logan Minich had a pair of runs scored.

Wolbert started the game on the mound for North Clarion striking out three and giving up two runs on one hit in three innings. Hargenrader got the win with two strikeouts in four innings.

UNION 17, FOREST AREA 3, 6 INNINGS

TIONESTA, Pa. — Carter Terwint went 3-for-4 with a home run, and Luke Salvo was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs to lead visiting Union to a 17-3, six-inning win over Forest Area.

Also for the Golden Knights, Luke Bowser went 3-for-4.

Noah Burke paced Forest Area with a double and run scored while Declan McLaughlin went 1-for-1 with two RBIs. Dominic Grubbs and Travis Swartz each had a run scored.

CRANBERRY 4, MONITEAU 2

SENECA, Pa. — Cranberry did the nearly impossible Wednesday afternoon winning a game in which it gave up two runs and didn’t record a hit, taking advantage of three Moniteau errors, four walks and a hit batter to knock off the visiting Warriors, 4-2.

Gage Neal, Brandon Carson and Hunter Fitzingo combined on the losing no-hitter for Moniteau.

Carson took the loss giving up three unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on two walks and two errors.

Hunter O’Neil led off the fifth with a walk and Preston Forrest followed with a sac bunt that turned into runners on second and third. After a strikeout, Kenny Lavrich grounded out scoring O’Neil to make it 2-1, and Forrest then scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-1 before Trevor Gladin drew a walk. Gladin then scored when Tyler Comiske reached on another error to make it 4-1.

The Berries first run came in the third thanks to back-to-back walks to Brandon Forrest and Lavrich, a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly by Gladin that tied the game at one at the time.

That run came off of Neal who pitched four innings allowing the run on two walks and a hit batter while striking out five.

Carson pitched ⅔ of an inning giving up the three unearned runs on the two walks while striking out one. Hunter Fitzingo then pitched 1 ½ innings to finish up the no-hitter.

Adam Smerkar got the win throwing a complete-game four-hitter. He allowed two runs, one earned, while walking three and striking out six.

Mason Mershimer paced the Warriors going 2-for-3 including a double. Tyler McFadden doubled and had a run scored while Neal singled.
