Softball Roundup: Forest Area Tops Union

Jasmine Ginnery Forest Area Kim ConstantinoTIONESTA, Pa. – Catelynne Boehme went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to lift Forest Area to a 14-4, six-inning win over visiting Union.

Natalie Myers added a 2-for-2 performance with two doubles and an RBI for the Fires.

Jasmine Ginnery got the win allowing four runs on seven hits. She walked four and struck out two.

Rylie Colligan had a double and two RBIs for Union with Katelyn Clinger also picking up a double.

Kira Marsh took the loss in relief of Sierra Salvo. Salvo gave up two runs on six hits and five walks while striking out five in 3 ⅓ innings.

Union led 4-2 going to the fifth but Forest Area scored four in the fifth and then ended the game with an eight-run sixth.

REDBANK VALLEY 4, WEST SHAMOKIN 3

RURAL VALLEY, Pa. – A strong outing in the circle from Montana Hetrick helped visiting Redbank Valley to a 4-3 win over West Shamokin.

Hetrick went seven innings allowing three runs, one earned, on two hits and three walks while striking out eight. She helped herself at the plate going 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Becca Kunselman was 2-for-2 for the Lady Bulldogs with an RBI.

Sierra Patterson was 1-for-4 with an RBI for West Shamokin.

KARNS CITY 15, CLARION-LIMESTONE 0, 4 INNINGS

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Kate Allen and Mackenzie Dunn each homered, and visiting Karns City used a 10-run third inning to claim a 15-0, four-inning win over Clarion-Limestone.

Allen was 3-for-3 on the day with two runs scored and four RBIs, while Dunn went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Alyssa Stitt also drove in three runs for the Lady Gremlins and was 1-for-2 with a double and a walk, Ashley Fox was 1-for-1 with a run scored and two RBIs, Katie Neff was 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs, Zoe King went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI, Taylor Ekis was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and two runs scored, Garrah Milochik was 2-for-3 with a double, Emily Wolfe was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored and Megan Whitmire scored twice.

Logan Byers, meanwhile, tossed a three-hit shutout striking out one.

Abby Himes, Abby Carl and Karleigh Aaron had singles for C-L. Reagan Husted suffered the loss.

CRANBERRY 14, MONITEAU 1, 5 INNINGS

SENECA, Pa. – Using a six-run first inning as a springboard, Cranberry bounced back from a two-game losing streak to plaster visiting Moniteau, 14-1 in five innings.

Emily Duncan hit a two-run home run in the six-run first and also added a triple in the game while going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and four RBIs.

Rachel McCauley was also 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs for the Berries with Megan Hadden going 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, three runs scored and an RBI and Andrea Watson going 2-for-2 with two runs scored.

Cassidy Claypoole was 3-for-3 for Moniteau, while Taylor Thomas drove in Lexi Miller.

Watson got the win going five innings allowing one earned run on five hits and three walks while striking out two.

Courtney Stewart took the loss.
