John E. Hunt, Sr., 60, of Knox, passed away Thursday evening, May 2, 2019 at his home.

He was born on January 24, 1959 in Ridgewood, New Jersey; son of the late Chalmer P. and Joyce A. Watterson Hunt.
John served in the US Navy.

He married Carrie Straka on June 20, 2008, and she survives.

John worked as a truck driver, a mechanic, and retired as a store inventory auditor.

He was a member of the Clarion Church of the Nazarene.

John was also a member of the Shippenville-Elk Volunteer Fire Department.

He loved his children and grandchildren.

John was a big Dale Earnhardt fan and liked watching NASCAR.

He also enjoyed mobile cars, working on cars, watching car shows on TV, and his dogs.

John is survived by his loving wife; two children: John E. Hunt, Jr. and his wife Nicole of Clarion and Erica Sue Lehnortt and her husband Jonathan of Shippenville; and his five grandchildren: Gage, Alex, Summer, Christopher, and Brianna.

He is also survived by his siblings: Rachael Susan and her husband Tom of Delaware, Matt Hunt and his wife Lisa of New Jersey, and Diana Molloy and her husband Chuck of Florida; his aunt: Ricka Humberg of Florida; and the mother of his children: Suzsann Hunt of Shippenville.

John was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Robert Hunt; a sister: Penny Susan; and a nephew: Shawn.
Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion, where funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Gene Hill, pastor of the Clarion Church of the Nazarene.

Interment will be held in the Rimersburg Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral home.
