DILLEYstevenSteven D. Dilley, 48, a resident of 126 Titan Lane, Cooperstown, died peacefully, yet unexpectedly, at 7:02 AM Friday, May 10, 2019 at his home.

He was born June 12, 1970 in Franklin. He was son of Charles P. “Pete” Dilley, Jr. and Eleanor Bruner Dilley, who preceded him in death.

He married Ella Mae Masters on January 25, 1991, who survives.

Steve had worked for a number of years as a cook at various local restaurants.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening and yard work at his home, and especially sitting around the campfire sharing good times with his family and friends. He was an accomplished artist, who loved to draw.

He attended The Community Church of God at Cooperstown.

Steve loved animals, especially his own dogs and cats. As a talented woodworker, he was presently working on a cat house for his cats at the time of his death. He was a kind and gentle man, who was loved and will be deeply missed by so many.

In addition to his beloved wife, Steve is survived by two daughters: Katie Lynn Dilley of Utica and Crysta Nicole Dilley of Kennerdell.

Also surviving are his brothers: Charles R. Dilley and wife, Crystal of Franklin and David E. Dilley and wife, Rebecca of Cooperstown. He is also survived by his nephews: Peter Dilley, Michael Dilley, Eric Dilley, Landon Dilley and Blake Alexander.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter, Stephanie Dilley.

In keeping his wishes, there will be no public visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service in celebration of his life, Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 3 PM in The Community Church of God at Cooperstown, with Pastor Barry Markle, officiating.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be directed to the funeral home, to help defray his funeral expenses.
