Goldie A. Chittester

Goldie A. ChittesterGoldie A. Chittester, 90, of Corsica, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the McKinley Health Center in Brookville.

She was born on January 24, 1929 in Clarion Township; daughter of the late John A. and Pearl M. Ambill Leadbetter.

Goldie married John Chittester on September 12, 1948; and he preceded her in death.

She worked as a cafeteria worker at the Clarion-Limestone School District. Goldie was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, sewing, and gardening.

Goldie is survived by her three daughters: Cathy Klender and her husband Michael of Weedville, Sandra Kauffman and her husband Dan of Brookville, and Laurie Stephens and her husband Todd of Tucson, AZ; three grandchildren: Andy Slaugenhaupt, Rich Slaugenhaupt, and Beth Hetrick; and nine great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sister: Patsy Hileman and her husband William of Corsica and her brother: Wayne Leadbetter and his wife Judy of Cranberry.

Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson: Matthew Klender; a son-in-law: Brian Slaugenhaupt; two sister: Ethel Champion and Clara Luther; and five brothers: Raymond, Melvin, Clarence, Lloyd, and Leroy Leadbetter.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019 at the Asbury United Methodist Church, where funeral services will follow in the church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Foor, pastor presiding.

Interment will follow in the Asbury Cemetery.
