A-C Valley Softball Rolls Past Union

Kylee Eaton A-C Valley Lori BlauserWEST FREEDOM, Pa. (D9Sports) — Cami McNany went 2 of 3 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs to help A-C Valley to a 15-0, three-inning win over visiting Union.

Baylee Blauser was also 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored for the Lady Falcons with Andrea Meals hitting a two-run home run in the third inning and scoring twice. Sydnie Schmidt added a 2-for-2 day with a double, a walk and two runs scored, Kylee Eaton and Emily Wetzel each doubled, walked and scored twice and Brogan Armagost scored two times.

Kia Marsh was 1 of 2 for Union.

Schmidt got the win going 2 ⅓ innings allowing a hit while striking out two. Wetzel pitched ⅔ of an inning striking out one.

CRANBERRY SWEEPS KEYSTONE

KNOX, Pa. — Cranberry went on the road and swept a doubleheader from Keystone winning 14-0 in five innings in the opener and 14-4 in five innings in the nightcap.

In the first game, Maria Anderson fired a perfect game. She struck out nine.

Anderson helped her own cause going 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored and three RBIs.

Also for the Berries, Kaylie Bruce was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Andrea Watson was 1-for-2 with two RBIs, Jenna Seigworth was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored and Tamaria Flinspach was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Megan Hadden added three runs scored.

In the second game, Hadden and Emily Duncan both hit home runs in the win, while Rachel McCauley doubled twice.

Hadden was 1-for-1 with a run scored and two RBIs, Duncan, who added a double, was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs, and McCauley, who had a double in the first game as well, was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a double.

Also for Cranberry in the second contest, Olivia Plummer went 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored, Maddie Cornelius was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two RBIs and three runs scored and Flinspach was 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Plummer got the win going five innings allowing four runs on eight hits, three walks and a hit batter while striking out five.

Jessi Phillippi hit a home run for Keystone while going 2-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and three RBIs. Jacy Pritt added a pair of hits for the Lady Panthers.
