Harlan K. Samuelson

UntitledHarlan K. Samuelson, 98, of Clarion, passed away early Saturday morning, May 18, 2019 at the Clarion Healthcare Center.

He was born on September 10, 1920 in Sheffield; son of the late John G. and Esther Krantz Samuelson.

Harlan graduated from the Sheffield High School in 1941.

He married Hazel A. Phillips on May 20, 1944, and she survives.

Harlan was a Mold Maker at the Owen’s Illinois Glass Plant, retiring after 23 years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clarion.

Harlan enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and watching his favorite teams play on TV.
He was an outstanding musician, playing several instruments by ear, including the guitar and the organ.

Harlan entertained audiences in his younger years with instrumental and vocal selections.

He is survived by his loving wife, Hazel; a daughter: Dr. Andrea L. Miller; and a granddaughter: Lena M. Miller, both of Clarion.

Harlan was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law: Michael Miller; six brothers: John, Merle, Harry, Norman, Clyde, and David Samuelson; and his sister: Almeda Donovan.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion.

Additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in the Funeral Home, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Randy Leadbetter, assistant Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Clarion.

Interment will follow in the Sheffield Cemetery.
