Police: Strattanville Man Punches Woman in Face, Threatens to Slit Her Son’s Throat

CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Strattanville man is facing charges of assault and terroristic threats after he allegedly punched a woman in the face and then threatened to slit her son’s throat.

According to court documents, Clarion-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 61-year-old Kent Craig Hilliard, of Strattanville, on May 16:

– Terroristic Threats W/Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

The charges are the result of a domestic assault that occurred at a residence located along Route 322 in Clarion Township on Thursday, May 16.

According to a criminal complaint, Trooper Cyphert, of PSP Clarion, was dispatched to a domestic violence call at the above described location.

Upon arrival, troopers were met by two victims who disclosed that Kent Craig Hilliard, had struck the female victim in the face. She had obvious bruising below the right eye due to the punch.

During the investigation, it was learned that an argument started earlier in the evening which continued and resulted in loud verbal arguments at which time the female victim’s son became involved.

The son stated that he stepped in to protect his mother which resulted in Hilliard threatening “to slit his throat,” according to the complaint.

Hilliard was arraigned at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, in front of Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn.

Unable to post $10,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on May 28 with Judge Quinn presiding.
