Cummings PhotoMary Alice Cummings of Miola passed away on May 19, 2019, at her home following a brief illness. She was 84 years of age.

Mary Alice was born on July 26, 1934, in Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Violet (McNaughton) Caddy. She was a proud graduate of Taylor Alderdice High School and then attended Robert Morris Business College.

In 1956, she married Ronald B. Cummings, who survives. Together they built a wonderful life, raised a family, and recently celebrated 62 years of marriage.

Mary Alice worked as a secretary and administrative assistant in several high schools and trade schools around the country.

As her parents’ health declined, she took on the role of caregiver to them and the family settled back in Clarion. She was also a sales consultant for Home Interiors products and she thoroughly enjoyed the social aspects of this career.

Mary Alice was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion. She was also a long-time member of the Stitch ‘N Chatter Club of Miola and the Red Hat Society. Mary Alice was a loving and caring person who would go out of her way to help others whenever needed. She cherished spending time with her friends and family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary Alice is survived by her husband, Ron; her daughter, Barbara Krupnik and husband John, of Clarion; her grandchildren, Cynthia Sciandra, and husband David, and Benjamin Krupnik, and wife Thao; and her great-grandchildren, Alexander Sciandra and Leianna Krupnik. In addition, she is survived by an extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Orwin William Caddy.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Deryl K. Larsen will officiate. Interment will be in the Miola Cemetery.
