CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – One lane of Interstate 80 West was closed Tuesday morning when a van caught fire after striking a deer.

Clarion County 9-1-1 received the call at 6:35 a.m. for a motor vehicle accident at the 66.2 mile marker on Interstate 80 West. The caller reported that a van was on fire.
Clarion Fire & Hose Co. No. 1, Clarion Hospital Ambulance Service, and Clarion-based State Police were dispatched to the scene.
According to emergency radio broadcast transmissions, the incident was a result of a van versus deer collision.
Clarion-based State Police told exploreClarion.com that one lane of Interstate 80 West was closed as a result of the crash; however, it reopened around 9:00 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
