State Police: Man Injured in DUI-Related Crash in Hickory Township

HICKORY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State police say a man was injured in a DUI-related crash that occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday.

According to police, around 12:04 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 22-year-old Brian T. Faulkner, of Tidioute, was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, traveling north on State Route 62 just north of Smith Lane in Hickory Township, Forest County.

Marienville-based State Police say a crash investigation was completed and determined that Faulkner failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway, and his vehicle left the northbound lane and traveled approximately 163 feet along the embankment until it struck a ditch, causing it to roll over. The vehicle then came to a final rest in the northbound lane, facing south, approximately 313 feet after leaving the roadway.

Faulkner was wearing a seatbelt. He suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported to UPMC Northwest by Tionesta Ambulance Service.

According to police, Faulkner was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol and in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Charges are currently pending blood test results.

He was also cited for a speed violation.

Frank’s Towing and Hickory Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
