Driver Seriously Injured After Swerving to Miss Deer, Crashing into Trees

FOREST COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — A 35-year-old man was seriously injured Sunday after he swerved to miss three deer and crashed his SUV in Forest County.

Marienville-based State Police Trooper Bell said the accident happened around 3:06 p.m. on Beaver Meadows Road, approximately 2.2 miles north of Birch Street.

Jeffrey S. Branson, 35, of Pittsburgh, was traveling north and attempting to negotiate a right curve on Beaver Meadows Road when three deer entered the roadway.

Branson swerved to miss the deer causing him to lose control of his 2019 Cheverolet Equinox. The vehicle left the roadway and struck two trees before rolling over.

Trooper Bell said Branson was transported to a known hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries.

Marienville Volunteer Fire Department and Clarion Hospital Ambulance assisted at the scene.
