Corsica Man Accused of Harassment, DUI in Clarion Township

CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Corsica man is behind bars following an incident that occurred in Clarion Township late Sunday night.

Around 10:41 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, Clarion-based State Police responded to Izzy’s Trailer Court on Staab Road in Clarion Township for a report of a disturbance.

According to police, 37-year-old Joseph Iwanczuk, of Corsica, was outside yelling loudly and causing a disturbance. He was located on Staab Road, operating a black Ford Focus while under the influence of alcohol.

Police say, after further investigation, it was determined that Iwanczuk was at a local residence where he urinated on the floor, intentionally damaged a carpet, and forced open a door to the residence causing damage. Iwanczuk is also accused of striking a 44-year-old Corsica woman and a 16-year-old Strattanville girl during a physical altercation.

According to police, Iwanczuk was transported to Clarion Hospital for a blood test but refused the test.

Court documents indicate he was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn at 1:30 a.m. on Monday, May 27.

He faces the following charges:

– DUI: General Impairment/Incapable of Driving Safely — 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
– DUI: Highest Rate of Alcohol (BAC .16+) 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
– Criminal Mischief-Damage Property, Misdemeanor 3
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary
– Disorderly Conduct-Unreasonable Noise, Summary
– Careless Driving, Summary
– Reckless Driving, Summary

Unable to post $10,000.00, he was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, with Judge Quinn presiding.
