Knox Man Accused of Hitting, Strangling Woman During Domestic Dispute

BEAVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Knox man is facing charges after he allegedly struck and strangled a victim during a domestic dispute early Wednesday morning.

According to court documents, Clarion-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 49-year-old Michael Lee Foust, of Knox:

– Strangulation — Applying Pressure to Throat or Neck, Felony 2
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

The charges are the result of a domestic dispute involving Michael Foust that occurred early Wednesday morning at an apartment located on Knox Commons Drive, in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:19 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, Trooper Knight, of PSP Clarion, was dispatched to the above-described location for a report of a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, Trooper Knight interviewed a known woman (the victim) who related that she is dating Michael Foust, and they got into an argument that turned physical, according to the complaint.

The victim reported that while they were in the bedroom of the apartment, Foust struck her in the face causing her nose to bleed. During the altercation, the victim stated that Foust held her down on the bed by her neck with two hands, causing her to not be able to breathe for approximately two minutes, the complaint states.

Trooper Knight observed redness on the bridge of the victim’s nose, red marks on both sides of her neck, and scratches on the left side of her neck.

Foust was placed under arrest and transported to PSP Clarion.

He was arraigned at 3:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, in Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill.

Foust is free on $2,500.00 monetary bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on June 11 in front of Magisterial District Judge Amy Long Turk.
