CLOVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a Jefferson County man allegedly fled the scene of a crash that occurred around noon on Friday.

According to police, around 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 72-year-old Kenneth C. Minick, of Summerville, was operating a 2004 Hyundai Sonata, traveling north on Cemetary Road in Clover Township, Jefferson County.

Police say Minick drove past Kemp Lane and then attempted to back up onto the roadway to turn around, but he missed the lane and struck the mailbox nearby. He then paused to assess the damage before leaving the scene.

According to police, the mailbox post showed signs of damage, and a witness took a photo of Minick’s license plate.

Police say Minick was then interviewed at his residence and admitted to the incident.

Minick was not injured in the crash.

He was cited for leaving the scene of an accident.
