Man Accused of Luring Teen to Oil City

SCRANTON, Pa. (EYT) — Charges have been filed against a man accused of luring a teen across the state—from Lackawanna County to Venango County.

According to WNEP, 45-year-old Floyd Thurston, of Scranton, is facing charges for allegedly enticing a 15-year-old girl away from her home in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pa.

Thurston allegedly took the girl to a location near Oil City before being arrested in Venango County and transported back to the Lackawanna County Jail.

Court documents indicate he was arraigned in front of Lackawanna County Magisterial District Judge Laura M. Turlip on Wednesday, May 29, on the following charges:

– Interference W/Custody Of Children, Felony 2
– Concealment Of Whereabouts Of Child, Felony 3

Unable to post $50,000.00 monetary bail, he remains lodged in the Lackawanna County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, with Judge Turlip presiding.
