Police Respond to One-Vehicle Crash in Beaver Township

BEAVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a one-vehicle accident occurred on Saturday morning on Interstate 80 in Beaver Township.

According to Clarion-based State Police, the collision occurred around 8:57 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, as 51-year-old Maxim Novikov, of Lewisburg, was operating a 2017 Toyota Camry, traveling west on Interstate 80 near mile marker 58.6 in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

Police say Novikov was in the left lane when a deer ran across the roadway. Novikov’s vehicle struck the deer with its front passenger side, causing damage to the front fender and hood of the vehicle. The vehicle then came to a final rest one-tenth of a mile down the road on the left shoulder.

Novikov was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

Clarion Hospital EMS, Clarion Fire & Hose Company No. 1, and Frye’s Garage assisted at the scene.
