Brinkman, C obit photoCarol A. Brinkman, 72, of Crown, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born December 16, 1946, in Kane, to the late Richard F. and Lillian K. Holtman Westerburg.

On February 9, 1980, she married Robert K. Brinkman in Geneva, Ohio.

Carol was a woman of many trades. She was a supervisor at Amtex and managed a sewing shop. As a custom tailor, she made hot tub and spa covers, as well as awnings. Carol and Robert also built and owned Brinkman’s Water. Carol then went to the Clarion County Career Center where she studied to become a licensed practical nurse. She retired from UPMC Northwest as an LPN after working there for 12 years.

She enjoyed the outdoors: fishing, camping, and the beach. Carol also enjoyed traveling, gambling, reading, cooking, and buying and selling on eBay. Most importantly, she enjoyed her family and spending time with them.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children: Susan Fields and her husband, John of Goshen, OH; Jonathan Tinker and his wife, Patricia of Fort Myers, FL; Heidi Wethington and her husband B.J. of Goshen, OH; sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren on the way. She is survived by her siblings: Becky Bowers of Clover, SC; Peggy Williams of Greenville, PA; Richard Westerburg of Albion, PA; Charles Westerburg of Mercer, PA; Gwen Green of Goshen, OH; Kathy Krause of Crown, PA; Janet Gadley of Crown, PA; Bobby Westerburg of Conneaut, OH; and Pat Westerburg of Kane, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Crystal Wilhite, and brother Carl Westerburg.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Borland-Ensminger Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. following the visitation, with Pastor Keith Diehl as officiant.
