Woman Distracted by Insect Crashes on Interstate 80

BEAVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a woman crashed on Interstate 80 in Beaver Township after she was distracted by an insect inside her vehicle.

According to Clarion-based State Police, around 4:19 p.m. on Friday, May 31, Hannah L. Fallecker, 20, of Valencia, was operating a 2005 Jeep Liberty, traveling west on Interstate 80 near mile marker 55 in Beaver Township.

Police Say Fallecker was in the left lane when she became distracted by an insect inside the vehicle and subsequently exited the left side of the roadway. Her vehicle then struck an embankment, causing it to roll over approximately four times.

Fallecker was wearing a seatbelt and her airbag deployed. She suffered minor injuries and was treated by Knox Area Ambulance.

She was cited for a traffic violation.
