William E. “Nuts” Felmlee

FELMLEEwilliamWilliam E. “Nuts” Felmlee, 75, a well-known resident of 832 Colbert Avenue, Oil City, died peacefully at 3:15 PM Sunday, June 2, 2019, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born September 8, 1943, in Kittanning, a beloved son of the late: James Felmlee, Jr. and Virginia M. Slater Felmlee.

He proudly served his country during The Cuban Missile Crisis and The Vietnam War era as a private with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Following his discharge from duty, William was an active member for more than 50 years of Boilermakers Local 154, Pittsburgh. For more than 30 years he was employed by The Boilermakers Union, retiring in 1999.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR Racing, pro wrestling, tinkering in his garage and above all—spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a kind-hearted man whose presence will be missed by so many who knew and loved him.

He was married April 20, 1968, to the former Linda Bechtel, who survives.

In addition to his beloved wife of 51 years, he is survived by two sons: Brian Felmlee and wife, Terri and Brad Felmlee and wife, Lisa, all of Oil City; three grandchildren: Amber Fellows and husband, Brian; Brian Felmlee, Jr. and Brittany Felmlee and fiancé, David Taylor, Jr., all of Oil City; and by five great-grandchildren: Lincoln Fento, Colton Fento, Sydney Felmlee, Adalynn Taylor and Brylee Taylor, all of Oil City; four step-grandchildren: John Stroup, Jr. and Shawn Stroup, both of Corry; Zach Stroup of Pleasantville and Charles Stroup of Oil City; in addition to six step-great-grandchildren: Belle, Jaelynn, Masen, Iris, Orion and Briahna.

Also, surviving is his sister, Virginia “Ginny” Scanlon, and husband, Tony of Franklin and two brothers: Dennis Felmlee and wife, Kathy of Madison, NC and Lanny Felmlee and wife, Denise of Oil City; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Felmlee and three sisters: Nancy Gravatt, Donna Kovach, and Judith Felmlee.

Friends may call Friday 5-8 PM in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin.

In honor of service to his country, full military burial rites will be accorded by The V.E.T.S. Funeral Honor Guard of Franklin at 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
