Four Clarion County Residents to Compete in Taste of Talent Vocal Competition
The contestants are: Shannon Birsa of Oil City, Hagan Cook of Franklin, Tim Craver, of Franklin, Aalaiyah Jacques of Knox, Scott Kennedy of Franklin, Reagan Lashinsky of Oil City, Joseph Lillard of Oil City, Courtney McBride of Pleasant Unity, Madyson Montana of Leeper, Brianna Schwab of Sligo, JW (Bill) Smith of Franklin, and Joni Zacherl of Clarion.
Franklin Events/Marketing Coordinator, Ronnie Beith said there were 20 entries and the judges had trouble narrowing it down to 12 competitors. Six of these contestants have competed in previous years and 6 are new to the competition.
The competition draws thousands of spectators each summer to vote for their favorite contestant and enjoy these great shows held at Bandstand Park. The kickoff will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, in the bandstand during Franklin’s Fourth of July Festivities Week.
Contests will be held with contestants being eliminated by audience vote on Wednesday, July 3, 10, 17 and 24. The semi-finals will be held August 3 at 7 p.m, and the competition finale is on Sunday, August 4, at 4 p.m. immediately following Franklin Retail Association/Franklin Fine Arts Council Taste of Franklin Festival.
The $1,000 grand prize winner is sponsored by Franklin-Oil Region Credit Union. The three semi-finalist receive $100 cash and a $100 Franklin Retail Gift Certificate, sponsored by Jake and Nancy Lindsey and the Franklin Retail & Business Association. Butler Health System, Seneca Medical Center is also a sponsor.
