Lawrence Eugene “Larry” Alex, 62, of Ohio, formerly of Venango County, died Tuesday evening, June 4, 2019, in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born in Oil City on November 25, 1956, to Edith I. (Huff) Alex of Franklin and the late Floyd K. Alex.

Larry attended Cranberry schools.

He enjoyed fishing, and had a fun sense of humor and enjoyed joking around.

Mr. Alex worked as an over the road truck driver for many years. He also worked as a cook at various restaurants in Ohio.

He is survived by his mother, Edith Alex, and his step-dad, Richard Crisman, of Franklin; two children, Colton and Brianna Alex of Ohio; his siblings: Fred Alex and his wife Trudy of Oil City, Pam Ginnery and her companion Tom Gibbons of Tippery, and Henry Alex and his wife Connie of Aynor, South Carolina; his nieces and nephews: Alicia Alex, Owen Ginnery Jr., Tara Ginnery, Denise Ginnery, and Christopher Alex; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd K. Alex; a daughter, Crystalskye Alex; his paternal grandmother, Emily Gearhart; and his maternal grandparents, Clinton and Verna Huff.

A graveside committal service at Rockland Cemetery is being planned, and those details will be announced at a later date.
