Driver Swerves to Avoid Deer, Overturns Car in Monroe Township

MONROE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A driver who swerved in an attempt to avoid a deer on the roadway overturned his vehicle on Wednesday night in Monroe Township.

According to police, around 10:27 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, Christopher S. Peace, 20, of Sligo, was operating a 2015 Chrysler 200, traveling on South Reidsburg Road just south of Clarion.

Police say Peace swerved in an attempt to avoid a deer standing on the roadway and overcompensated, causing the vehicle to travel up an embankment on the left side of the roadway, and ultimately tipping the vehicle onto its side.

Peace was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
