gavel new aPERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A 21-year-old man who allegedly shoved and threatened a woman and then repeatedly punched a man and threatened him with a hunting rifle is due to stand for a preliminary hearing next week.

Court documents indicate Daniel Stephen Hilliard, of Oil City, is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, on the following charges:

– Terroristic Threats With Intent to Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary (two counts)

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Monday, June 3, when Trooper Lingle, of the Clarion-based State Police, was dispatched to a residence on Stephens Road in Parker, Perry Township, Clarion County, for a report of domestic violence.

According to a criminal complaint, upon Trooper Lingle’s arrival, he made contact with the victims. The female victim related that her boyfriend, Daniel Hilliard, spit on her, shoved her to the ground, and stated that he wanted to “f****** kill her,” and she then ran out of the house and got her father for help.

According to the complaint, the female victim’s father then opened to door of the residence, and Hilliard was standing at the door with a loaded hunting rifle pointed at him. Hilliard then allegedly said to the male victim: “If you take one more step, I’m going to kill you,” and stepped toward him with the rifle. The male victim then grabbed the barrel of the rifle from Hilliard, and the two men wrestled over it until the male victim gained control.

Hilliard then punched the male victim in the face multiple times with a closed fist, according to the complaint.

Based on the investigation, Hilliard was arraigned in front of Judge Miller at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 6.

Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Clarion County Jail. He was released later that day on a surety bond posted by a professional bondsman.
