Man Who Allegedly Admitted to Taking Too Much Medical Marijuana, Causing Disturbance Faces Hearing on Tuesday

BEAVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A man who allegedly admitted to taking too much medical marijuana following an incident at a Beaver Township campground is facing a hearing on Tuesday.

According to court documents, 45-year-old Anthony Michael Pilotta, of McKees Rocks, Pa., will stand for a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Amy Long Turk at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, on the following charges:

– Resist Arrest/Other Law Enforcement, Misdemeanor 2
– Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, Misdemeanor 3
– Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct, Summary

The charges are the result of an incident that occurred on Saturday, May 18, at Wolf’s Campground in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 8:33 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, an employee from Wolf’s Campground called PSP Clarion and reported that a male individual later identified as Anthony Michael Pilotta was running around Wolf’s Campground shirtless and acting crazy.

Trooper Doverspike and Corporal Cloak, of Clarion-based State Police, arrived on the scene around 8:43 p.m. and Anthony Pilotta was observed walking toward a camper. Trooper Doverspike ordered him to stop; however, he kept walking and ignored Trooper Doverspike’s command. At this time, officers attempted to put Pilotta in handcuffs for Disorderly Conduct and Public Drunkenness.

The complaint states that Pilotta became aggressive and resisted arrest by forcefully moving his hands away while being handcuffed. As Pilotta was handcuffed, he attempted to walk away multiple times.

Pilotta was put in a police vehicle and seat belted. He unbuckled itself numerous times and attempted to get out of the vehicle, the complaint indicates.

According to the complaint, Pilotta “admitted to taking too much of his prescribed medical marijuana. He also related that he was being an idiot.”

The camp employee related that “Pilotta was acting very strange and crazy and that he was running around the campground screaming obscenities at people and was taking off his clothing.”

In addition, “while on the golf course area, (Pilotta) ripped his kids off the golf cart for no apparent reason,” the complaint states.

Pilotta was arraigned at 10:50 a.m. on May 18 in Magisterial District Judge Amy Long Turk’s office.

Unable to post $7,500.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Clarion County Jail. He was released on May 23 on a $750.00 cash security posted by a private surety.
