UPDATE: Route 66 Has Reopened

SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — After being closed for approximately one hour because of live wires down acorss the road, Route 66 in the area of the Paint Township Building has reopened.

A call came into Clarion County 9-1-1 around 7:40 p.m. for lines down across Route 66 at a residence just north of the Paint Township Building. The caller reported a truck had taken done the wires. Shortly thereafter, Shippenville/Elk VFD informed Clarion County 9-1-1- that the roadway would need to be closed in both directions.

Southbound truck traffic was detoured in Leeper to Route 36 then to Route 208 and back to Route 322 in Shippenville while northbound truck traffic was detoured to Route 208 in Shippenville to Route 36 back to Route 66.

Local southbound car traffic on Route 66 was detoured to Kiser-Wagner Road while car traffic northbound was not being allowed to enter Route 66 at the intersection of Route 322 and Route 66 and was being detoured the same way as the truck traffic.
