James D. Collett, 64, of Clarion, passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning, June 17, 2019, at his home.

He was born on July 11, 1954, in Clarion; son of George H. Collett of Clarion and the late E. Jane Collett.

James graduated from Clarion Area High School in 1973.

He married Gaye Elaine Young on December 21, 1988, and she survives.

James worked in the maintenance department for the former Clarion County Vo Tech for 13 years.

He was of the Catholic Faith.

James was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

He enjoyed tinkering around the house and spending time with his family.

James is survived by his loving wife; his son: David James Collett and his wife Mandy of New Bethlehem; his granddaughter: Ruby Collett of New Bethlehem; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his brother: Michael G. Collett and his wife Catherine of New Kensington; and his sister: Kathryn J. Morrison and her husband John of Shippenville.

James was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
There will be no public visitation.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
