Here’s a fabulous dessert for your next picnic!

Chocolate Chip Brownies

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened
3 cups sugar
6 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup vanilla chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

~In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.

~Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture — just until blended.

~Pour into two greased 9-in. square baking pans. Sprinkle with chips and nuts. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes (or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean). Cool.

~Makes four dozen brownie squares.
