daugherty obit picLawrence D. Daugherty, 82, of 27 Paul Revere Rd. Oil City, PA. , died at 9:35 A.M. Wednesday, June 19, 2019, after an extended illness.

Born July 11, 1936, in Seneca, PA., he was the son of the late Wayne & Dorothy Zillifro Daugherty and stepson of Lillian Daugherty who survives in Franklin.

Mr. Daugherty was a graduate of Cranberry High School.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1955-1959.

He had worked at Oil City Glass Plant and Foster Forbes until the plant closed and then he relocated to Wilson NC with the company.

Larry married the former Rose Marie Homer on June 4, 1960, and she preceded him in death on July 19, 2018.

Larry attended St. Stephen’s Church while in Oil City and St. Therese Church in Wilson, NC.

He volunteered at the soup kitchen while living in North Carolina.

Larry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, going to the beach and spending time with his coffee club.

Larry enjoyed all animals and could always be found in his Lazy-Boy chair.

He is survived by his son Scott Daugherty & his wife Mary of Oil City and their children, Matthew Daugherty & his wife Tiffany., Benjamin Daugherty, and Nicole Daugherty all of Oil City. He is also survived by his great-granddaughter Faith Rosemary Daugherty, one sister Pat Snyder & her husband Mike of Polk, Pa., Two brothers Jim Daugherty of FL and Ray Daugherty of Butler, a sister-in-law Carolyn Watson of Oil City, a brother-in-law and his wife Clayton”Butch” Homer & his wife Sandy of Franklin, and several nieces and nephews

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Friday in Our Lady Help of Christians Church with Fr. Ian McElrath, Presiding.

Interment will be in Brandon Cemetery with Full Military Honors

Memorials may be made to VNA Hospice of Venango County.

The Reinsel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
