Thumbnail-83Vincent A. Hoffman, 100, of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at The Caring Place.

Born on June 16, 1919 in St. Marys, WV, he was the son of the late Clarence Vincent and Alice (Belle) Hoffman. On July 10, 1942, he married the former Laura B. Beatty; she preceded him in death on September 28, 1997.

For most of his life, Vincent worked as an Electrical Engineer for Joy Manufacturing, where he retired in 1983.

In his spare time, Vincent enjoyed woodworking and was a one-time Boy Scout. He was a member of the Myrtle Lodge 316, the Valley of Oil City, and the Valley of New Castle. He was also a former member of the Franklin Kiwanis Club.

Most of all, he cherished his family and the time he spent with them, especially his great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory is his grandson, Eric Weber and his wife, Angie, of Franklin; his great-grandchildren, Hannah Marie Weber of Mayfield Heights, OH, and Gavin Vincent Weber of Franklin; his son-in-law, Robert Gibson and his wife, Kathy, of Franklin; his nephew, William Martin and his wife, Susan, of Indiana, PA; and his niece, Delores Heins of Colorado.

In addition to his parents and wife, Vincent was preceded in death by his two daughters, Patricia Ann Hoffman and Laura Suzanne Gibson; and his three brothers, Ralph, Eugene, and Floyd Hoffman.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA 16323, from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Funeral services for Vincent will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 at the funeral home starting at 4 pm, with Reverend David Smith, pastor of the Franklin First Church of the Nazarene, officiating.

Vincent will be laid to rest next to his wife at the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery.
