Q&A With Logan Byers

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in and why?
LB: My favorite sport to participate in is softball because, without it, I would never be the person I am today.

D9Sports: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
LB: My favorite memory would have to be our annual wiffleball game at softball on the last day of open gyms before mandatory practice starts.

D9Sports: Why do you play high school sports?
LB: I play high school sports because they motivate me to become a better player and person.

D9Sports: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
LB: My head coach, Mike Stitt, has had the most impact on me. From freshman year to now, he has brought out the best in me both on and off the field and I can’t thank him enough for pushing me to be the person I am today.

D9Sports: If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be and why?
LB: If I could change one thing about high school sports, I’d change how people in our society views female sports. Everyone seems to look down on us because we are girls, and we never receive the recognition that male sports receive.

D9Sports: If you could be president for a day, what would be the one major thing you would do?
LB: If I were president for a day, I would try to pass a law requiring all students to take a mental health exam in school. Mental health is a big issue in society that is being overlooked by so many people these days.

D9Sports: What is your ideal place to live? County, City, Suburb? Why?
LB: I love living in the country, everything is much more peaceful than in the city.

D9Sports: What would someone who doesn’t know you be surprised to find out about you?
LB: My all-time favorite movie is Disney’s Brother Bear 2.

D9Sports: What is your strongest subject in school?
LB: My strongest subject is Math.

D9Sports: If there was one period in history or one event in history you could go back to, what would it be?
LB: I’d go back to July 1969 to witness Neil Armstrong walk on the moon.

D9Sports: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
LB: “If there was one play that you wish you could redo from the season, which would it be and why?” I’d like to go back to the D9 game and not throw an outside pitch to Clearfield’s No. 13 in the fifth inning because she hit a line drive to my shin and it’s still bruised and hurts to play on.
