Clarion County Announces Mapping and GIS Assistant Opening
This is an entry-level position which includes on-the-job training and experience. The position will report to the County Director of GIS. This is a local government position, working 8:30 am – 4:30 pm with an hour unpaid lunch, 35 hours (full time) per week.
Prior experience in GIS, geography, computer science as well as familiarity with ArcGIS software (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcGlobe, and/or ArcScene) is preferred.
Primary duties include: performing skilled digital mapping involving preparation of digital maps for county offices and general public, reading and digitizing aerial photography into a vector/digital format for use in Geographic Information System (GIS), data entry/updates to reflect changes, and providing supportive mapping upon request.
