River Rescue Dispatched for Woman Injured Along Clarion River

BARNETT TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Emergency personnel responded, by rescue boat, to a call on the Clarion River in Cook Forest on Independence Day.

According to a representative of Clarion County 9-1-1, they received a call from a Cook Forest State Park Ranger requesting a river rescue around 4:43 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, at a location along River Road Barnett Township.

Marienville Volunteer Fire Company, Clarion Fire & Hose Company #1 Rescue Boat, and Clarion Hospital Ambulance were dispatched to the scene.

According to Doug Preston, Fire Chief for Clarion Fire & Hose Company #1, the victim was a woman who fell and injured herself along the river.

She was taken by boat across the river and then transported by ambulance to Clarion Hospital for injuries of unknown severity.

The scene was cleared around 6:41 p.m.
