Clarion County Recipe of the Day: Slow-Cooker Pizza Dip
This is an excellent dish for a family gathering!
Slow-Cooker Pizza Dip
1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 pound bulk pork sausage
1 – 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup diced green pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 garlic clove, minced
3/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Garlic bread or rye bread
~In a large skillet, cook and crumble beef and sausage over medium heat until no longer pink, five to seven minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer meat to a 3-qt. slow cooker. Stir in all remaining ingredients except bread.
~Cook, covered, on low until heated through, two to three hours.
~Serve with garlic bread or rye bread.
