VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — A Venango County teenager died as the result of injuries suffered when his vehicle crashed into a house early Friday morning on Pone Lane in Sandycreek Township.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 12:45 a.m. on July 5, 19-year-old Matthew C. Clayton, of Franklin, was driving east on Pone Lane in Sandycreek Township, Venango County, at a high rate of speed.

Police say for unknown reasons, Clayton’s 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer traveled off the north berm of the roadway for approximately 650 feet. The vehicle struck several mailboxes, a utility pole, and a house located at 1065 Pone Lane before coming to a final rest.
