Pictured above are Madison McFarland and Emma McFarland who received gold medals for their National Program benefitting Parkinson’s Disease research. The twins just finished their eighth grade year at West Forest.

Besides the conference activities, students were able to spend a few hours at Huntingdon Beach, visit Disneyland, and tour Los Angeles. They even experienced the unplanned event of an earthquake. Everyone was safe, but it was a little “shocking!”

Special thanks is extended to the JW Bowman Proper Grant, PNC Bank, Rescare, Veteran’s Club of Forest County, and the Fryburg Sportsman’s Club for the grants and donations which made this trip possible. Also, many thanks to the community members for all the support through the fundraisers.

The students had a fantastic learning experience and represented Forest and Warren Counties with outstanding pride and medals.
